No quality loss (WAV)
Audio is decoded at its original sample rate and channel count, with no resampling. The 32-bit float WAV matches the decoded original sample for sample; the 24-bit one is transparent. MP3, on the other hand, uses lossy compression to make files smaller.
What was already lost doesn't come back
If the original is lossy (WhatsApp, MP3, AAC), the WAV can't restore that detail, but it adds no further loss: it's the best starting point for editing or mastering.
